We are proud to announce a special partnership between OOFU (Oedema and Oncology Physical Therapy Utrecht) and Mauro Medical Specialists: two organizations that are joining forces to provide even better support to people with cancer, not only in the hospital but also beyond. This collaboration enables clients to receivespecialist medical guidancealongside regular hospital care, as well as to actively work on their health through specialized oncology physical therapy. Who are the partners?
OOFUis a specialized practice that offers oncology physical therapy and edema physical therapy from its locations in Utrecht and Bilthoven. Their approach is tailored to clients at all stages of cancer: curative, recovery, chronic, and palliative. Mauro Medical Specialistsprovides personalized oncological care from experienced oncologists and other medical specialists, complementing hospital care. Mauro’s medical specialists visit clients at home throughout the Netherlands or welcome them at one of their “living room” locations in Amsterdam, Haarlem, and Utrecht. Eindhoven and The Hague will follow soon. They focus on both medical treatment and lifestyle, quality of life, and patient autonomy.

After or during hospitalization, Mauro may refer the patient to OOFU for physical therapy tailored to the oncological context.
Conversely, OOFU can also refer oncology patients to Mauro for additional care, advice, or home care services.
Mauro will continue to serve as the medical point of contact: not just for a single instance, but as an ongoing source of support throughout the process.
OOFU offers training and support at every stage: acute care, recovery, chronic care, and palliative care.
Clients are given the opportunity to take an active role: self-management, personalized training, nutrition, and lifestyle. This helps them take greater control of their own health.
